We are so fortunate to have a phenomenal team that is dedicated towards creating a warm and caring environment for the children of our community here at The Nesting Nook!
Stacey Cooper: RECE & Centre Supervisor
Hi, my name is Stacey Cooper and I have been the Centre Supervisor at The Nesting Nook the past 2 years! I am a RECE graduate of Mohawk College, and also have my Psychology degree from Brock University. I am currently attending Brock part time to obtain my ECE degree. I have been working with children for over 20 years, whether it be while I was teaching figure skating, working as a nanny for 10 years or most recently working as a Toddler teacher and in a Program Support role for the Infant and Toddler programs at my previous centre for 4 years.
I was born and raised here in Binbrook and still call it home today. I look forward to reconnecting with the community and getting to know your families.
My husband and I have a 6 year old fur baby named Beckett, he is a very spoiled Hungarian Vizsla. In our spare time we love to travel, and just be with family and friends!
Angie Khamis: RECE
My name is Angie Khamis, I am the RECE in the Half Day Preschool classroom and was previously in Preschool 2 since opening. I graduated from Mohawk College in 2015. Since then I have supplied for the Hamilton Catholic Children’s Centres, in their toddler, preschool and their before and after care rooms. I also did supply work at Infant Jesus Kindergarten and Nursery Daycare. I have always had an interest in caring for children and children/adults with exceptionalities. While in high school I did a co-op in the life skills room as well as Able Living, a retirement home for adults with special needs. I created such a strong connection with so many of them and loved to spend quality time playing board games, reading stories, helping them go shopping for needs, and even assisting them on learning how to walk.
I have 8 very energetic nephews, I’ve spent many years babysitting and watching them grow. I am the youngest of five, I have two brothers and two sisters as well as two very loving and protective parents.
The children I care for at the Nesting Nook mean the world to me. I try and build such a loving relationship with each child because I feel that it is so important for them to feel a sense of belonging in their environment. Every child learns differently and at a different pace, we are here to help support and guide them throughout their adventures.
